Once your bilingual driver has met you at the hotel, tour heads north on a customized journey by car with AC just minutes away. First stop takes place at Pueblito Paisa (little town), cozy replica of a typical Colombian village sitting in the center of the city which shares outstanding panoramic views of the Medellin valley. There is enough free time to walk around and take the best postcard photos or use bathrooms and grab snacks at any time so is recommended to bring cash and/or Colombian pesos since not every store takes credit or debit cards. After a guided visit, our local guide will wait for you to go on to the next stop downtown to visit the barefoot park, park of lights, and the infamous Fernando Botero Plaza where 23 amazing statues of the most popular local artist reside.
Just let your guide know when you start to feel hungry so you can enjoy a tasty traditional lunch and dinner as per itinerary at some of the most traditional local restaurants. Snacks are included in price so feel free to request your guide at any time.
In the late morning, tour takes you back in history to the first colonized town in Antioquia called Santa Fé de Antioquia, one of the most significant villages in our geography due to the arrival of Spanish troops more than 400 years ago. Amazing views of the Cauca canyon can be shared as you are headed northwest and leaving the city behind. Especially at the San Sebastian exciting gondola ride along the canyon for you can share spectacular views and lush landscapes passing along the native farmers and their crops.
After about one hour ride, arrive at Santa Fé de Antioquia, distinguished by classy architecture and cultural heritage. A walk around the square is a good way to appreciate Spanish buildings and the founder´s history. The best place to experience the colonial times is the Juan Del Corral Museum, gathering objects, documents and historical facts about colonization in Antioquia. On the way out, tour visits the Occidente Bridge, part of the national heritage which is no longer used by cars since it is more than 200 years old, but it has free access and you are free to walk around and take pictures of the spectacular views before going back to Medellin at the end of the day.
It has already been a pleasure introducing you to the most fascinating sceneries and traditions of the Paisa culture and our Medellin City Services® team definitely looks forward to welcoming your family and friends in the near future so feel free to ask your guide for info and special deals as you are headed back. After approximately 10 hours of a fantastic journey through history of colonization in Medellin, your private driver/guide takes you back to your hotel or any other location you feel like.
