Once your bilingual driver has met you at the hotel, tour heads north on a customized journey by car with AC just minutes away. First stop takes place at Pueblito Paisa (little town), cozy replica of a typical Colombian village sitting in the center of the city which allows you to share outstanding panoramic views of the Medellin valley. There is enough free time to walk around and take the best postcard photos or use bathrooms and grab snacks at any time so is recommended to bring cash and/or Colombian pesos since not every store takes credit or debit cards. After a guided visit, our local guide will wait for you to go on to the next stop downtown to visit the barefoot park, park of lights, and the infamous Fernando Botero Plaza where 23 amazing statues of the most popular local artist reside.

Just let your guide know when you start to feel hungry so you can enjoy a tasty traditional lunch or dinner as per itinerary at one of the well-recognized local restaurants. Snacks and samples are included in price so feel free to request your guide at any time.

During the afternoon, you will learn closer about the rich history behind Tango in Medellin and gain a better understanding of this exciting dance and Gardel´s input in Colombia. First stop takes place at Malaga bar, one of the oldest tango bars which will allow you to understand how Tango pioneers first settled in our city. You can use bathrooms and/or purchase extra drinks while you make yourself comfortable and take pictures or ask questions to the guide. There are convenient facilities where to use bathrooms or grab snacks at any time so is recommended to bring cash or Colombian pesos since not every store takes credit or debit cards.

Tour heads next to Gardel´s favorite hangout just a few minutes north. A warm barrio where his statue was placed as a tribute and nowadays is home of the Gardelian house which displays some of his most significant contributions. Feel free to walk around and take photos or ask questions to your Medellin City Services® private guide. In fact, there are souvenirs that you can purchase at additional cost so we recommended bringing cash or Colombian pesos since they might not take credit or debit cards.

Finally, tour heads back south towards local airport where in June 1,935 unfortunately the Tango king passed away after his plane crashed and burned in flames. Your Medellin City Services® professional guide will make sure and narrate the details of this fatal incident that has gained Medellin a well-known reputation for being the “second home of Tango”.

It has already been a pleasure to have you in Medellin and our Medellin City Services® team will definitely be honored to welcome you and/or your family and friends in the near future so feel free to ask your guide for info and special deals as you are headed back. After approximately 8 hours of a fantastic journey around the fascinating history of Tango in Medellin, you should be more familiar with this musical city, main Tango icons and gastronomy as your private driver/guide drives you back to your hotel or any other location you feel like.
